Las Vegas!

Quick recap of pictures of the last two days. We just got to Vegas. I have tons of school work to take care of and the rest of the time will consist of lazy river, shows, people watching and debauchery lol doubt I'll be positing much this weekend!

Back at the Ginger Cafe! July 16th

Today was great. Got lots of school work done. Walked around town and rhe mountain.  Took a nice nap. Got my work-out on hicking up the mountain for some frisbee golf with THE MOST breathtaking views! And of course we had to come back to the Ginger Cafe....Anthony said we would lol

Adorable town! We had coffee and read the "Busted at the Butte" section of the newspaper.  Hilarious!!! They literally write about every single 'issue' or 'call' they received to police.  Check it out lol

Monday July 15th

Today we finally got on the road!! Goal = Las Vegas by Friday, July 19th. We'll be driving around, checking out some adorable mountain towns, enjoying some activities, and reeeelaxing!

Saturday July 13th

We were so lucky to join some friends rafting in the Colorado River. Absolutely gorgeous! Had a blast!! Water wasn't too cold, which was a good thing when I had to use some quick Navy Seal moves to save my sunglasses from being sucked into the river. Lol
We finished the day off by having some dinner with yet another amazing sunset. Life.Is.Good

God must be a painter

On Friday, July 12th, we went to Strawberry Park Hot Springs, in Steamboat http://www.strawberryhotsprings.com. The route to get there was incredible and exciting.  We were in the middle of nowhere! Saw many farms and ranches, horses and cows :) We made a quick stop at a very small town.  It was certainly humbling to see such different lifestyles than the FL one I'm used to. To know there are different folk out there is one thing; to see how they live without the endless privileges of big city life is another.
The roads themselves were gorgeous and a bit scary with it's curves, up and down the mountain.  Right before the entrance to the park the road turns into a clay dirt road,  which was totally fun to drive on.
The hot springs were amazing and therapeutic! !! We got there early enough to still have some daylight but it got real dark real fast. It was great, you could barely see in front of you. The darker it got, the more naked people there were....and well...."when in Rome"...lol
It was an exhilarating experience! !

Vail mountain

I felt incredibly 'high' on life yesterday (pun intended) lol. We rode the gondola up to play some frisbee golf. The ride up the mountain and those views alone were enough to satisfy me. 

It took me a minute to get used to some sort of 'vertigo' I felt as I walked and saw the depth below me out of the periphery of my sight. Breathing uphill at those altitudes is no joke either, but it felt kinda good. I haven't had a cigarette in four days by the way!  Breathing on top of a mountain can be a great motivator for quitting the nasty habit.

Playing frisbee golf amongst the amazing sights; deers, chipmunks, and adorable wildflowers, was enough to make me forget it was cold and rainy. Besides, I'm actually quite good at frisbee-ing (lol), if I may say so myself. We shared some beers and took a smoke break (it's legal here!) under some shelter while we talked to Ted, a fellow frisbee-er.  

Later Dan said I had the "shot of the day" when I was actually able to throw my frisbee around a pine tree that was in the way of my shot! Woot! 
My shoulder has been hurting me so I hope it feels better soon....I want to get more play time in!
